In April 1999, the organization was formed to bring together and support the Deaf GLBT and signing communities in the state of Minnesota. Our mission as a Rainbow Alliance of the Deaf (RAD) chapter is the same as the national RAD organization: "To establish and maintain a society of Deaf Gays and Lesbians to encourage and promote the educational, economical, and social welfare; to foster fellowship; to defend our rights; and advance our interests as Deaf Gay and Lesbian citizens concerning social justice; to build up an organization in which all worthy members may participate in the discussion of practical problems and solutions related to their social welfare." MNRAD has six officers on its board: President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Community Liaison, and Events Director. All officers serve two-year terms. MNRAD's by-laws are posted here. Membership costs only $10 a year. This enables members to save money on admission to the various MNRAD events throughout the year. Please consider joining us for a year of fun and friendship!
